Welcome to Guatemala

The Country of Eternal Spring

Guatemala, the Country of Eternal Spring, is very rich in culture and nature. Come and see for yourself: color is everywhere, from lush, green foliage and tranquil blue lakes, to the multicolored costumes of the Indigenous people. While traveling in Guatemala, visitors can see and admire traditional rituals and ceremonies, Pre-Hispanic and colonial monuments, landscape and nature parks. Altiplano's Tour Operator will help you see it all easily, safely and economically!

ABOUT US: Altiplano's Tour Operator is proud to be 100% Guatemalan. We have many years experience working in tourism, having helped many thousands of visitors see the sites of Guatemala. William and the boys were awesome in organising everything we needed while in Xela, from picking us up from the bus station, organising and guiding us through the 2 day hike of Tajumulco (Angel was an awesome guide and was a memorable experience) to organising shuttles for us all the way into El Salvador.

Salud ! boys, and i hope to be back one day, hopefully for a longer time.

Hi, I recently caught a shuttle with Altiplano Tour in Xela....and made it back to Texas but I am preparing to return to Central America.
Now I would like to catch the shuttle back from San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico but I am heading for Honduras instead of Xela. So I am really needing a shuttle to Guatemala, City or some other place so I can travel on from there. Do you have a shuttle that can get me to G City or some other destination to head me to Honduras.

A big thanks to you, William, for a fabulous day visiting the extravaganza of a market in Totonicapan, the extraodinarily colorful churches in San Andres Xecul, and the first Guatemalan Christian church in Salcaja. Without you we wouldn´t have seen the process of dying threads for making the Mayan clothing and the colorful hanks hanging in the sun to dry nor found our way to the home of a Salcaja family where we saw the man demonstrate the foot loom and had a taste of the woman´s delicious caldo de fruta (fruit soaked in rum for months or years), nor visit the current home of San Simon (aka Maximon or Maxmun). Your exceptional grasp of English enabled us to talk about the politics, culture, geography, and history of Guatemala. We couldn´t have found a better guide. Thanks for a memorable experience.

My friend and I went to Totonicapàn, San Andrès Xecul and Salcajà with William as our guide. Besides taking us to places that we wouldn´t have been able to find ourselves (for example, a house in Salcajà where we watched the man use a foot loom to weave the traditional traje and were able to sample Caldo de fruitas (fruit soup), William explained much of the history of these cities as well as some general Guatemalan history. He made the story of Guatemala´s struggles come alive! He enabled us to take our time in each of the spots that we visited and helped guide us through the maze of the market in Toto. My friend and I recommend his services highly.

During our 12 days touring, the three days with Altiplano's were the best. Our guide, William, was great. He spoke wonderful english and for the spanish speaker on our trip, he was a pleasure to speak with. We expressed our interest in culture and he did a great job getting us out to local towns, markets and explaining all that we were seeing. He shared with us history as was just very friendly. We hiked Chicabal and Daniel was very friendly as well. He allowed us to trek at our own pace and nicely explained the Mayan altars. We would definitely recommend and look forward to using Altiplano's in the future.

BTW.. safest drivers we had of any tour/shuttle company.

Muchas informaciones interesantes.
